Asphalt and Roadstone Production

The production of roadstone requires the crushed graded rock to be heated before it is given its bitumen coating. Cat Pumps are used for pumping the oils that are used as burner fuel at pressures typically between 12 and 40 bar through the burner jet where it is ignited.

The variety of fuels used can include reclaimed oil, clean fuel oils and kerosene. The Cat Pump, with its ability to handle the suspended solids found in reclaimed oils and the poor lubricating properties of low viscosity fuels at high pressures provides the best of all solutions.
