Up to 70% of oil is left in the reservoir after primary and secondary production recovery methods are completed. Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) – also known as improved oil recovery or tertiary recovery – is an oil recovery enhancement method to continue production after primary and secondary efforts are done. The purpose of EOR is to restore reservoir pressure and improve oil displacement or fluid flow in the reservoir.
